Start with involving your children in the design process. Maybe they want to incorporate their favorite sports in this room, or maybe something just as simple as an area for art projects! Consider their wants and likes when beginning the process so that you have a place to start.

Create the perfect oasis by using their favorite colors to paint an accent wall, or better yet, paint a cute pattern. Creating an accent wall will brighten up the room, and create a space they will enjoy as they get older.

Consider picking out neutral furniture but adding some colors with a rug, pillows and artwork. This will allow you to update the room as your children get older, without breaking the bank.

Add some storage, such as cabinets or a mud bench to the playroom. Perhaps, paint the storage to a neutral color that can be personalized with signs or baskets. You could also add hangers for sports equipment, jackets or other gear they use on a daily basis.
