Looking for something fun to do during this holiday season? Below are some events around the Oklahoma City metropolitan area to take your family.

1.    Visit downtown Oklahoma City! There are several things in downtown OKC to get you and your family into the holiday spirit. While visiting some eclectic shops on N Broadway Ave., take in the beautiful lights draping over all the buildings in the area.

2.    If you are still needing to do some holiday shopping, head on over to midtown to the holiday pop-up shops. You never know what you will find with local shops rotating weekly. You are sure to find a gift to cross off from your list!

3.    Go ice skating at the Devon Ice Rink.

4.    Go to the North Pole Market Craft Show on Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City. Attendees will get to shop from over 100 local vendors!

5.    Bring the family out to learn about plants and animals during the Winter Drop-Ins at Myriad Gardens. At this event you can make a natural ornament, as well as participate in other crafts.

6.    Have breakfast with Santa Claus on Dec. 16 at the Barn at Country Club in Newcastle!

7.    Go to a show at the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. This venue is putting on The Christmas Carol, Dec. 23, and again on Dec. 24.

8.    For those in the Yukon area, visit Main St., for Christmas on Main. This event is Dec. 7, from 5-8 p.m., and features horse-drawn wagon rides, photos with Santa, Christmas Alpacas, Christmas lights and so much more!

9.    Do you love riding bicycles? If so, join Trek Bicycle on Dec. 17 from 5 – 7 p.m. for the Trek Oklahoma City Holiday Lights Ride. All you will need to do is decorate your bike with strings of lights and join them for a family-friendly group ride.

10. If you are wanting to stay inside, the Harkins Theatre in Bricktown will be playing classic holiday films from Dec. 5 & 6, Dec. 12 & 13, and Dec. 19 & 20.

11. Join the Railhouse Evet Center in Norman, Okla. for the Railhouse Express & Christmas Market. This event will be held Mon., Dec. 18 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. for hot chocolate and music. Attendants will be transported to the North Pole and will get to enjoy shopping and crafts.

12. Take the family on the Polar Express Train Ride at the Oklahoma Railway Museum on Dec. 27 at 4 p.m. This classic children’s story will be led by a cast of talented actors on board of a real train.
